Abstract
At the time of writing this work, we are seeing and suffering the consequences of more than three months of war in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. As a European and a Spaniard, I could not conceive that, after the Cold War, the post-Cold War and the so-called New World Order, of a multipolar character, with a growing trend towards the democratization of states, with a new international agenda with new challenges such as climate change, the reduction of weapons, demographic problems, etc., could spark a conventional warfare in Eastern Europe. Starring one of the old superpowers, Russia, today converted into an authoritarian, repressive and anti-Western state, which has invaded the territory of one of its former federated republics, Ukraine, transformed into a consolidated democracy, open to the West, pro-European and with a great economic and social progress.
