Abstract
This article aims to highlight the figure of the composer Facundo de la Viña, recognized as a great symphonist, as supported by the critics, the awards received and the different positions held throughout his life during the Second Republic and the first Franco regime. Paradoxically, it has been so valued and recognized in life, as unknown today is for most. Facundo de la Viña belonged to the Generation of Masters, but he was no stranger to the new avant-garde of the moment.
Through the musical criticism of the time and the study and analysis of his piano production, we can establish the most characteristic features of his musical aesthetics and compositional language, showing a quality work that, at all, justifies that a composer of his stature remains practically forgotten.
