Editorial policy
The editorial process of Orden Internacional is independent and we want to guarantee this by means of an editorial policy. Our Scientific Council is responsible for overseeing good practice in terms of content.
The editorial process begins with the submission of a proposal through this platform, via ‘submissions’. Once received, the proposal is reviewed by a member of the Editorial Board to check that it meets the minimum conditions and once approved, it is sent for evaluation to two specialists in the field, independent of the journal, who will prepare their reports without knowing the identity of the author. This process can take up to two months.
Papers received for review will be treated as confidential material and no information contained therein will be disclosed or discussed, except with the author's consent, with persons other than the author, the editors or the reviewers.
At this point, the Editorial Board, in accordance with these reports, will make a decision on publication in International Order, within six months of receipt, bearing in mind that publication may be delayed by up to one year depending on the needs of the journal. The evaluated article will be classified as Suitable for publication, Suitable with corrections and Not Suitable. In the case of Suitable with corrections, the author will be informed of the faults to be corrected and will be given a maximum period of one month to resolve them. Once the author sends the text again, it will be supervised by the Editorial Board and the external evaluators to ensure that the changes have been made.
PUBLICATION CODE OF ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT
At Orden Internacional we want to support research focused on the highest standards of ethical integrity, in order to achieve a worthy scientific quality. Orden Internacional, based on the COPE Guidelines, considers as essential values: honesty in the research process, transparency, clear communication between authors and editors, and the utmost respect for all participants involved in the editorial process.
Responsibility of the journal's organs
Director
The Director of Orden Internacional will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and fulfilment of the duties of the Editorial Board, reviewers and authors.
He/she shall be responsible for the proper development of the Journal and the maintenance of the editorial line, as well as for ensuring that the periodicity of the Journal is adhered to.
Editorial Board
The Editorial Board of Orden Internacional is responsible for analysing and deciding on the publication of articles submitted to the Journal, accepting or rejecting them, always bearing in mind the editorial line of the Journal and the guidelines issued by its Editorial Board.
The Editorial Board will ensure the impartiality and objectivity of the evaluations, avoiding any potential conflict of interest that may arise. It will preserve the anonymity of the evaluators, except with their express consent.
As a result of its own assessment and the reports submitted by the reviewers, the Editorial Board will decide whether to accept, reject or require revision of the article by the author before publication, and will inform the authors of its decision, stating the reasons for it.
The final decision on acceptance or rejection cannot be taken until the author has received a new version of the article in question and the article has undergone a new evaluation process.
The Editorial Board is made up of the Director, Deputy Director, Secretary and the appointed members.
Scientific Board
The Scientific Board shall ensure that the scientific character of the journal is maintained and that good practices are used. Its members will promote the journal within the academic and editorial world. They will also evaluate the editorial line and assist the Editorial Board or the Editor in questions as a consultative body.
Reviewers
The Editorial Board takes into consideration, when accepting or rejecting an article, the reports and evaluations prepared by the evaluators appointed for this purpose.
Such evaluation will be anonymous, blind and there will be more than one evaluator for each paper. Members of the journal's Editorial Board or Scientific Board, external experts from the academic and business world, as well as members of the academic world will act as peers.
Whoever is appointed as evaluator of an article must carry out the review in an objective manner, expressing their conclusions and points of view with arguments that support the evaluative judgements made and the considerations made, avoiding personal and subjective appraisals.
The evaluator must maintain the confidentiality of the information to which he/she has access in his/her work, as well as inform the Editorial Board of Orden Internacional of any possible conflict of interest that could affect the impartiality in the exercise of the task entrusted to him/her.
Authors
Authors may only submit articles for review that are unpublished and are not pending publication or review in any other journal.
Authors are responsible for their work, which must be carried out in an ethical and responsible manner. They must present their work honestly, refraining from manipulating or omitting to cite the work of others, as well as from citing work that they have not read. They must also ensure that they have obtained any necessary permissions for the reproduction of content obtained from other sources.
In collective works, all authors must have made significant contributions to the content of the work. Authors are responsible for the validity of the data used in their work and on which they base their conclusions.
They must inform the Editorial Board of the existence of any conflict of interest in which they may find themselves during the publication process. They also undertake to communicate, as soon as they become aware of its existence, any error they may have identified in the published work and to collaborate with the Editorial Board of Orden Internacional in the actions that are subsequently implemented to correct or warn of the error found.
Research integrity
In the event that any of these aspects are not duly complied with in our editorial process or as a result of it, it will be the obligation of the editors and authors who detect it, to communicate it to the management bodies of Orden Internacional, an aspect that can be denounced by any reader.
Editorial process
The editorial process of Orden Internacional is independent and we want to guarantee it by means of a regulation in this respect. Our editorial process is free of external influences, focused solely on the production and publication of scientific articles. Our Scientific Board is responsible for overseeing good practice in terms of content.
The editorial process begins with the registration and submission of texts through the OJS platform. Once received, the proposal is reviewed by a member of the Editorial Board to check that it meets the minimum conditions and once approved, it is sent for evaluation to two specialists in the field, independent of the journal, who will duly prepare their reports without knowing the identity of the author.
The papers received for evaluation will be treated as confidential material and no information contained therein will be disclosed or discussed, except with the author's consent, with persons other than the author, the editors or the reviewers.
At this point, the Editorial Board, in accordance with these reports, will make the decision on publication in International Order, bearing in mind that publication may be delayed for up to one year depending on the needs of the journal. The evaluated article will be classified as Suitable for publication, Suitable with corrections and Not Suitable. In the case of Suitable with corrections, the author will be informed of the faults to be corrected and will be given a period of one month to resolve them. Once the author sends the text again, it will be supervised by the Editorial Board and the external evaluators to ensure that the changes have been made.
Peer review
The journal Orden Internacional guarantees the publication of research papers submitted to peer review by the double-blind procedure.
The journal undertakes that the papers will be evaluated by two external reviewers, who will not know at any time the identity of the author of the text. We will also take care to ensure that there is no fraud in the process and the texts sent to the reviewers will be checked beforehand to ensure that they have no marks or signs that could identify the authors. Any indication of fraudulent action detected by authors or editors must be reported immediately to the journal's management or, where appropriate, to the Editorial Board.
With this measure we aim to guarantee the scientific quality of Orden Internacional throughout the editorial process, as well as the secret identity of the authors and the non-influence of personal aspects in the evaluation of the papers. Likewise, the identity of external reviewers will be kept confidential.
Copyright
The authorship of the text or article remains with the author in any case. Orden Internacional reserves the right to keep the publication agreed with the author published on the website, but the rights remain solely with the author.
Texts sent to Orden Internacional must be original and must not have been published elsewhere or be in the process of being published. To guarantee the originality of the articles and the author's rights, the author must sign an authorship document.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the deliberate or unintentional copying of the work of others, presented as one's own. The journal International Order is against plagiarism in all its aspects and pursues good practices away from inappropriate behaviour.
To avoid plagiarism, it is necessary for the author to refer to all quotations by indicating their source, also applicable to paraphrasing other works. General ideas taken from other authors should also be referenced. Obviously, it is not permitted to cut and paste sources from the internet or to take possession of another person's identity without their knowledge.
With the Unicheck plagiarism system, we ensure that none of the contents published by IOrden Internacional are subject to plagiarism. In case of discovery of plagiarism or fraudulent use of the authorship of other authors, the work will be immediately rejected and communicated to the Scientific Council.
Duplicate publications
One form of plagiarism or misconduct is duplicate publication, which occurs when an author publishes the same text on more than one occasion, even if in a different language, reproducing the same knowledge in two or more media. It can also occur with the superimposition of texts without being properly referenced. In any case, in Orden Internacional this type of conduct is not allowed and any publication that commits this type of duplicity will be rejected, provided that it is referenced and duly justified.
Integrity of people and animals
When an article includes the results of animal testing or human testimony, it must be respectful and uphold ethical standards. When an interview is used for the publication of an article, both the interviewer and the interviewee must agree to publication in International Order, and care must be taken to ensure that this is the case, trusting that the author has the consent of the interviewee. In the hypothetical case that the research has an animal component, it is important to ensure that the rights of animals are respected in an indisputable manner.
Conflicts of interest
The journal Orden Internacional is a non-profit publication, based on the altruistic dissemination of scientific knowledge. It is governed by the open publication system and does not seek any payment for the reading of its contents.
It may happen that editors, reviewers or members of any of the journal's organs submit articles for publication and when this happens, the evaluation system will be the same as for any author.
Responsibility and freedom of expression
The ultimate responsibility for any expression or statement lies with the author, but we at Orden Internacional do not support the defamation of other persons, groups and institutions. Therefore, we reserve the right to demand changes in texts that promulgate such practices.
Retractions and corrections
Just as authors are required to correct errors in their articles as indicated by double-blind peer review reports or by the editorial board, the journal is required to do the same in the event of a mistake.
At Orden Internacional we are concerned about maintaining a high scientific quality and therefore we will correct any error that is detected on the website, as well as in the editing of the articles. The Orden Internacional team will submit any errors to the Editorial Board for correction in a continuous process.
In the event that the article has already been published, we will be consistent and will withdraw the article if it involves any inappropriate practice such as plagiarism, defamation, duplicate publication or offence against the dignity of others.
Counterfeiting, Fabrication and Manipulation of Images
At Orden Internacional we ensure the authorship of photographs and images. As a general rule, visual materials may not be included in articles, but if they are included, they must be identified and referenced, indicating the source and provenance.
Any image that does not meet these characteristics will be removed after the author has been notified.
The same applies to the images on the covers and on the website, all of which are free photographs on the internet and not for profit on the part of the magazine.
Fraudulent research and research misconduct
At Orden Internacional we are committed to quality research and ethical conduct, so any misuse of these or misconduct referred to above will be punished by immediate removal from publication.
Versions and Adaptations
The journal Orden Internacional has a digital format and is therefore freely accessible from the internet. Articles are available in the original language (Spanish), but titles, abstracts, keywords and authors are available in English. Likewise, the rules of the journal and all aspects of the website are available in both languages, to be easily accessible to people all over the world.
Transparency
At Orden Internacional we place importance on transparency in all processes and publications, and likewise, we seek to uphold these principles with our fellow publishers, editors and authors.
Evidence and supporting data
At the Orden Internacional journal we strive to keep the contents of the journal in an open format on the web. We are also available in other repositories where articles can be consulted. Should the journal cease to be published, the contents would be available on this platform.
Open access and censorship
Orden Internacional is published on the web, access to it is free and open, so the publication is not for profit. Any internet user in the world can view the website and download its contents in pdf format to read on any device. They can also be printed for reading on paper. This practice is guaranteed in our presence in DOAJ and in our declaration of ethical principles.
Regarding censorship, for us it is a non-existent element that confronts freedom of expression, therefore we do not share its use and we condemn it.
Social networks
Orden Internacional is present in the social networks and internal networks of associations of Contemporary and Current History. This dissemination of the journal will at no time infringe on the identity of the authors, editors or reviewers and will comply with any of the ethical rules described in this section.
Funding and Grants
Orden Internacional supports the publication of articles that have benefited from grants or external funding, with express indication in the published articles.
