Errata, corrections and retractions

Papers published in Ciudad Esmeralda. Revista de Estudios sobre Literatura Infantil y Juvenil must remain unchanged after they have gone through the entire editorial process, including blind peer review and style correction. However, there may be exceptional circumstances that require the journal to correct, retract or even remove a paper. In such cases, changes will always be made under the coordination of the journal's Editorial Committee and, if necessary, with the approval of the advisory board, taking into account the basic rules set out in the URJC's Declaration of Ethics and Malpractice in Scientific Publication.

There are four possible circumstances:

Papers published in the journal must remain unchanged after they have gone through the entire editorial process, including blind peer review and style correction. However, there may be exceptional circumstances that require the journal to correct, retract or even remove an article.

1. Errata

The journal will publish a notice of any errors found after publication, especially when the reputation of the author or the journal itself is affected.The article will be republished with a notice of the changes made and assigned a new DOI.

2. Corrections

The correction notice produced by the authors will be published clearly in the journal. Such corrections may only be made if they affect the integrity and reputation of the authors.
The article will be republished, along with a notice of the subsequent changes made, and assigned a new DOI.

3. Retractions

A note will be published by the journal clarifying the circumstances under which information has been published that has subsequently been found to be incorrect. This will be done clearly and at the end of the paper under the following circumstances:

a. If the research is the result of copying an existing work, even though the anti-plagiarism programme did not detect it in the first instance.
b. If the contributions submitted to the journal have already been published and this has not been communicated to the journal's management.
c. If the data provided is incorrect and constitutes malpractice at the time of publication.

The retraction of a paper means that:

The Editorial Committee will publish a clarification note explaining the reasons for the retraction. This note will be published in a separate document that will refer to the retracted article and assign it a new DOI.

4. Removal of papers

We are confident that this measure will be very rare and will only be carried out when:

a. There is a court order preventing its publication.
b. The publication of the research constitutes a serious case of defamation or concealment of data that puts at risk the health of the authors, the members of the editorial team, or third parties who may be implicated by the information published in the journal.
c. The legal rights established by current legislation are infringed.
