Aims and scope

Neomedieval publishes works in all Romance languages and in English. This interdisciplinary journal with an international scope collects original research papers and bibliographic reviews that reflect theoretically or analyse productions in which the reception and construction of the medieval imaginary are particularly relevant based on their uses, functions and effects.
In its odd-numbered issues, published in June, the journal offers a miscellaneous section of articles, open for submission throughout the year, and another section of bibliographic reviews. The even-numbered issues, published in December, consist of monographs responding to specific calls for papers, coordinated by guest editors (papers must be submitted before 30 September of the current call), a special section called ‘The Middle Ages Live’ and another section of bibliographic reviews. All works undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review system.
Calls for papers for monographs will be published in the ‘Announcements’ tab of the journal's website well in advance. Those wishing to coordinate a monograph should contact the journal's editorial office and send a provisional call for papers, which will be evaluated by the Editorial Board.

The section ‘The Middle Ages Live’ is intended for reflections, interviews, and other proposals that take a broad view and emphasise the creative and productive role of various contemporary activities (fairs, re-enactments, musical ensembles, literary productions, among others).
Reviews should be of books in the field published within the last five years.
